The Obesity Surgery Center by Laparoscopy offers different forms of payment, such as Financing, Credit Card through Pay Pal or if you want you can make a deposit to the bank account of the Obesity Surgery Center by Laparoscopy.

The Surgery packages of the Obesity Surgery Center by Laparoscopy are all included, exempting the payment of the way of transport to Monterrey's City.

The package of Surgery that you choose covers the following:

: *The adjustments to the Lap-Band system if they are realized in Monterrey's City they do not take any charge fee from the Doctor. You will only need to pay the use of an Fluoroscopy equipment and this is charge and paid at the hospital when you have the adjustment done.; Main menu

You will need to have laboratory examinations before the Surgery which are not included in the Surgery package's payment.

These examinations will be made at the Hospital Laboratory once you get to Monterrey's City.

The examinations that are realized are:

Blood Chemistry; Complete blood cytometry; Coagulation test; Liver function test; Thyroid function test; Full lipoprotein analysis; Glycosilated Hemoglobin; Blood group and RH factor; Chest X ray; EKG; Superior abdominal ultrasound

Practice slight to moderate exercise, like long walk, and avoid foods with excess of fat and sugars one month previous to your Surgery.
Avoid the consumption of drugs and/or alcohol within the same period, otherwise notice your physician.
Fast 8-12hrs prior to the procedure, usually starting after midnight

In Monterrey's city the staff of the Obesity Surgery Center by Laparoscopy will be waiting for your arrival.

We will happen to gather you to the airport and We will take you in order that you register in the Hotel and later the Doctor Buenaventura Leal will make you a visit to check yourself and to chat with you of how the Surgery will be at the following day.

In the following day we will take you to the hospital where you will have the Surgery by Doctor Leal.

If you choose the Lap-Band's Surgery you will be spending one night at the Hospital and one more at the Hotel.

If you choose the Gastric Bypass, you will have to spend two nights in the Hospital and two nights at the Hotel.

After your staying at the Hospital We will take you to the Hotel for you to rest and recover from the previous Surgery

STAGES OF THE DIET

STAGE 1

Stage 1 of the diet begins approximately 24 hours after the Surgery, and consists in chewing shaved ice in order to improve digestion and with water ingestion in slow sips, in order of 30-40ml every 30 minutes to maintain hydrated.

STAGE 2

If or it is tolerated, diet advances to Stage 2 or diet of clear liquids, consisting of the ingestion of cattle, chicken or vegetable broths, diluted fruit juices (gradually the patient will be able to tolerate them more concentrated), not carbonated sweetened artificially drinks, free sugar gelatin and free sugar ice or caramel trowels, for following the three weeks.

STAGE 3

To the fourth week and as the clear liquids are tolerated, Stage 3 begins with pureed or soft food; foods are liquefied or processed until obtaining a consistency of baby food. In this stage it is necessary to stop drinking 30min prior and 30min after meals, to learn to stop eating whenever you feel satisfied and, since the new form of feeding is low in calories and probably it is required to optimize nutrition and prevent nutritional deficiencies, to begin taking daily vitamins (indicated by your physician)

STAGE 4

Stage 4 consists of an indefinite low balanced solid fat diet, modified according to the necessities of each patient. In this stage patients must:

Eat within regular intervals: at least have breakfast one hour after waking up; do not leave more than 6hr between each food; and avoid eating after the nine p.m.
Chew foods very well, 15 and 20 times before swallowing them.
Avoid "pecking" between meals, since the intention of the operation could be weakened.
Continue an intake of 1.5 to 2lt of liquid per day; the ideal to carry a water bottle everywhere.

The plan of feeding after Surgery must followed with fair care, since it is fundamental so that results are the awaited ones

When you return to your house, you will feel much better and completely restored.

You must remember to follow the post Surgery instructions to the letter.

If you have the Lap-Band surgery, after 6 weeks your band will have the first adjustment and you will start feeling the results.

Going back to work.

Your skill to return to your habitual limits of activity they will depend in much on your physical condition, the kind of activity your are use to and the type of Surgery of weight loss that you have.

Many patients return to their habitual levels of work that they have before the Surgery in 6 weeks after the procedure. Patients who have Laparoscopic surgical procedures as the Lap-Band and Gastric Bypass return to their activities in a few weeks.

Natal control and Pregnancy

Either one of the two procedures the Obesity Surgery Center by Laparoscopy offers is 100% compatible with pregnancy, you will have to take into consideration that at the moment you are pregnant, besides talking to your gynecologist, you will also need to inform Dr. Leal about it, and he will advice you all the steps to follow during your pregnancy after the surgery.

Long Term Post Surgery Follow Up

After your Surgery, we recommend you be kept in touch with the Obesity Surgery Center by Laparoscopy either by Phone or by e-mail, if you have any doubt, commentary or suggestion that you wanted to do to us is welcome, there is recommended that all patient of any obesity surgeries will need blood examinations realized once a year, this in order to monitor if your are in a good physical and nutritional condition.
